Hathaway's relationship with Valentino is nothing new. When the designer received his Rodeo Drive Walk of Style award in 2009, the actress was the presenter.
He also had a "leetle cah-may-oh" appearance in her hit film "The Devil Wears Prada," which depicted a Valentino runway
Never one to shy away from a couture gown, Anne Hathaway didn't choose her usual Armani Prive, but opted for Valentino for her début as this year's Oscars co-host. Joined by the man himself, Valentino Garavani, on the red carpet, the young actress was the epitome of classic Hollywood glam in a red strapless taffeta gown from the fashion house's Autumn 2002 Couture collection.
Featuring an assortment of roses along the sides and train, the gown could have easily been a disaster on anyone else - especially with the voluminous bustle on the rear. But as usual Anne worked this look with aplomb, thanks largely in part to her super stylist, Rachel Zoe.
